And to think we use to have to hold it up to the light! Remember the Kaleidoscope when we were kids?
This is really incredible ! How amazing that someone could not only create this, but make it to change when you move your mouse/cursor...or you can just sit back and let it change by itself.

Amazing!
Now you've reminded me of something. A friend of mine used to collect Kaleidoscopes and had a few antique and unusual ones, some of which her husband had brought back from places like Iran, Pakistan and other far flung countries. She was the kind of lady that didn't keep all her ornaments out on show constantly but would rotate her displays of different collections. Sadly, she is no longer with us and I'm now wondering what happened to her collection of Kaleidoscopes.

I tried one once in a joke shop whilst buying 'stink bombs for the saturday morning pictures, no one told me I had a black eye, well it was a joke shop....

I was thinking the same thing.. That happened to me. I was lured with the promise of a naked lady behind the lens..
Now, I do find it hard that a streetwise kid like yourself could have fallen for such a trick... Maybe it was a Karmic punishment before the crime..

This is beautiful but cannot compare to the real thing.
I can never get tired of kaleidoscopes! They did not get less fascinating when I broke my first one and learned that it was all bits of glass. Children have been amazed to see me hypnotised by their kaleidoscopes, this has made babysitting very easy, and I have not stopped once they were asleep.
As a child I was introduced to the black eye one and I passed it on.

When I was out in December I gave kaleidoscopes to my husband's youngest siblings. I was surprised that everyone in the house was really taken with the kaleidscope no matter what their age, adult or child.
Lovely things, very evocative of childhood and just a bit magical (to my eye).

My dad made me one out of an old torch case and fillied it with tiny bits of coloured glass [brilliant] when I was a kid.
