An interesting quote from an interesting lady! One of my favourite female singers, she is interviewed in today's Guardian.
The high spot for me was the embedded video of Marianne and David Bowie singing "I Got You Babe"!

Although Marianne was a sixties icon and as sexy looking as Julie Driscoll, she couldn't (and cannot) sing for toffee! But a great entertainer, nevertheless.

As she has matured from the "As Tears Go By" days, she has got better and better in my opinion - but I also like Dylan and Leonard Cohen!
Here's a couple of my favourite tracks.
(this is the acoustic version - below is the released version)
Enjoy!

I agree, I agree! Like our Canadian hero, her voice has developed a lovely gravelly timbre, and her stage 'presence' is electrifying. Nevertheless, definitely UNlike Mr Cohen, she often doesn't quite hit the note that she's aiming for. It isn't so obvious in the three videos you've given us (particularly given the two distractions in the first!) but she has always done this. She doesn't exactly sing wrong notes, it's just that sometimes they aren't exactly right!

Or, too quote Eric Morecambe - they are the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order!

I enjoyed Marianne Faithfull's cameo appearence in Absolutley fabulous,
She was female God. even had a ciggie..
Edina Monsoon ( jenifer Saunders ) had a bizzare Skiing accident and Met Marianne in Heaven, and was then told she had to go back to Earth..
