I would just like to say again - thank you to Keefy for providing the games for us all to play, but most especially a very big THANK YOU to all those who kindly donated prizes for the Christmas game competition. It is always a generous act when individuals and companies do this but particularly generous (in my opinion) to do this when times are not as good as anyone could hope for.

I was able to take and use my prize - A visit to the Sound and Light Show at Karnak Temple on Saturday 9th February - and was very happy to be able to take with me a friend from Luxor who had not seen the show before and is unlikely to be able to go other wise. I thought this was just going to be tickets to the show, which was already generous, but the prize included transportation from my hotel and the return journey.

My companion and I had a most enjoyable experience from beginning to end. Seeing Karnak Temple by day is magnificent but to stand there between those huge pillars and look up at the stars in silence was truly memorable.

Thanks to Petra Travel who donated this prize and to Mahmoud and the driver who took care of us.

(To anyone who is thinking of going to the show, I do recommend you take a small torch. There are times when walking around that you will find it useful - the tripping hazards in Luxor never diminish! I hasten to add, I was not attacked by broken paving slab and did have a mini torch with me which was also appreciated by others! - Guess who was a Girl Guide! )

I too would like to say a big thank you to Keefy and to all the sponsors who provided the prizes for this competition.

We have just returned from the King and Thai restaurant where we had a wonderful meal in lovely surroundings on Valentine's Day. The electricity went off about 10 mins after we arrived and we had mobile phone torch light, then some big torches and candles and it all made for a brilliant atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious, even my other half really enjoyed it and he is not normally very adventurous with his eating. I can thoroughly recommend this excellent restaurant and hope to visit again sometime soon. Many thanks Bombay
