A question for all you clever clogs

When I try to download anything on my comp it starts off then says "timed out" and wont continue. When I try to play games it always says "movie not loaded" and wont play. I am classed as administrator on my comp so I started a new guest account and when using that I can do what I want, play games etc. I haven't deleted or added any progammes just started this guest account. Why Oh why is this, I am getting fed up now of swapping from one to another. I know one of you will have the answer.
