14 ladies attended the Full Moon Dinner last night at the above restaurant, and it turned out to be the most disappointing meal in the whole 14 months since Ive been attending them. The service was non-existent. Despite having a week's warning of the event and our time of arrival they were not prepared for us. It was 20 mins before anyone asked us what we wanted to drink; despite pre-ordering a 3 course set menu of soup, main course and dessert, there was no soup or dessert. We did eventually get a dessert which was hastily prepared after a long wait. No-one came during the meal to ask if we would like extra drinks, we had to shout for any attention
(you would think in these difficult times anyone would be delighted to have a group of 14 guests and pull out all the stops). After having to ask twice for the bill they tried to charge us 30% more than the going rate for drinks (no menu had been seen). We refused to pay these inflated prices and paid what most of the other restaurants round the area were charging for these drinks. Not surprisingly not a single LE was left as bakhsheesh.
Sorry to hear you had such a disappointing evening. Hopefully the next one will be better & I'm sure tomorrow's book club special with MK will make up for it
Sounds absolutely appalling. If you had ordered in advance then there is no excuse for the treatment you received. Did they offer any explaination for the missing courses and lack of attention? Very glad you didn't leave a tip.
What can one really expect, you think you can get fed at a place that was a mud hut only 1O years ago, I trained for years as a chef and restrauteur, what makes you think that any Tom **** or Mohammed can do the business, Oh! Well back to McDonalds, then eh?.....lamb=slaughter and blue nun........

I visited Coriander Kitchen again this week. The food was good and freshly made. Still no red wine though, and no other customers. I suspect that this place is run more as a hobby than a business....
Last night we went to the Nile view coffee shop on the corniche, the place that used to be maro. We ordered 2 nescafes for me and my sister and 2 teas for our friends. When I asked for the bill I was...
