Luxor Charities

Post by Winged Isis » Tue Jan 10, 2012 8:40 am

More than once, posters have asked where they can help.

I recently found this site as a starting point to what is available:

http://www.alternativeegypt.com/Volunte ... egypt.html

It states it's not exhaustive; I'm sure others will add to this if they know of more. :)

And also found Ard el Amal Foundation at:

www.egypttravelplan.co.uk/egypt-charity-project.htm (in English) info@ardelamal.nl (in Dutch)

Funny, I'd not read this post before now. Found the link on your reply to Mirry on the ouroverde side! I'd just included those places in a list that I'd sent her. :-)

I know Ans, the lady who runs this [ http://www.egypttravelplan.co.uk/egypt- ... roject.htm ], and a nicer person you could not hope to meet. She has worked long and hard to get this project off the ground. I know any and all donations would be greatly received and put to good use.

Kevin, do you have a direct link to the project - or could you get hold of it please? Unfortunately the link from the page link doesn't give a website but a 'page not found' notice.

I was reading about the project back in January. The link didn't work but I found it via Google, in Dutch, but the translation was excellent. Just found it bookmarked ... try

If http://www.egypttravelplan.co.uk/egypt- ... roject.htm does not work try http://www.ardelamal.nl This is the dutch site but my Google translate extension immediately translates it into English. I have telephone numbers if anyone desperately needs to contact Ans.

i know that there are many charities doing good in Luxor and helping out with poverty and animals, is there a reason why some charities are registered in the UK and not Egypt or is it something to do with the countries laws? its the same with business's some Luxor Business's are registered in the UK, again is this to do with Egyptian laws
