:lol: :lol: :lol: (but don't worry, Stan – to Egyptians who live nearby you are "the man who is very clever, but he reads too much!")

We used to belong to the Marwell Zoo society. Spent many a weekend working on the Lemur stand raising money for the new Lemur house. We would always take a walk round afterwards to see what was going on with the animals. They had Red Panda but spotting them buried high in the branches of their trees was always a challenge!

Thisis the usual sighting of a red panda - I have been going to whipsnade zoo for many years and never saw them move or come down from the tree - these were taken in October on a sunny but cold day [same with the lemurs]Image

I love the red panda - there used to be one in the wildlife park near us, dont know what happened to it but they lost a lot of lemurs a couple of years ago in a fire - I love lemurs I loved to see them sunbathing. The park does do a lot for animal conservationa and is well worth a visit especially if you have children

Thank you for your comments and yes I'm feeling less down at the moment. Basically before I went to Luxor last month I had put in for partial retirement which would mean I would have 3x1 months off per year plus 4 weeks holiday - so plenty of time to spend in Luxor. Everything had been agreed in pricipal but when I got into work on Monday I was told that there was now an embargo on partial retirements and if they were ever reinstated the payments would be considerable reduced making not cost effective to do. Well found out today that I had been told a load of rubbish and I can re-apply {I'm still waiting for HR to answer one question which could cost me £7,000 before I do re-apply}
