Taste Of India - takeaway

Post by Bearded Brian » Thu Feb 18, 2010 6:29 am

Last night I wasn't in the mood to cook or to go out for a meal and a friend suggested trying a takeaway from ToI. I telephoned placed the order and picked up my chicken tikka masala and ice cold beer within 20 minutes. I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised - the chicken was perfectly cooked - moist and tender - these were big chunks of chicken breast. The sauce was thick and full of flavour - I didn't quite lick the container but that's only because my beard would have got in the way. Hopefully will try their other dishes before I head back to the UK

Brian

Back soon and I can't wait, I loved it, best Chicken Tikka this side of Bedford or Bradford.
Everything was good I usually don't do a main meal but have a variety of starters for my main meal, like Mushroom Bajee and Onion Bajee, Naan Bread, Pompadums and chutneys to go with the chicken Tikka starter.
My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

I can't be as effusive as Sue, although we've been there together a couple of times, and I've also gone there alone. It's an excellent restaurant, with a wide variety of dishes, cooked well, extremely tasty and to be recommended. I'd put it on a par with a good Indian restaurant in your local town - value for money, variety and excellent service. And that really makes it stand out in Luxor.

With more and more Indian tourists visiting Luxor, I can foresee several more restaurants opening in Luxor.
I might agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong!

Well I made it back again and I was not disappointed. No Russell about which was a shame as it's always nice to say a hello but his staff did him proud. The food was perfect and the service attentive. Definitely one of my favourite restaurants in Luxor.

We ate there last night after the Winter Palace event. Just said L4U when we ordered. The bills arrived at the end with L4U discount on them.

We forgot to do that. Although I suppose I thought a discount was only if you lived there, I didn't realise it was if you were a Luxor4U member.
Anyway it was worth every penny.

Indians have not resumed holidays to Luxor yet but I had e mail from India last week saying they hoped to be bringing groups back next month.

Once again I was pleased to visit this restaurant. I can honestly say that this was my favourite meal of my holiday. I just adore Indian food. The service here is speedy, you are in nice surroundings and (the loos are clean.)

Again, I have to agree with Sue = although maybe the best meal I had while she was here was the lamb and mint sausages at JJs! Service was fast and efficient, price was not too exorbitant and my chicken jalfrezi was good! A place to be recommended.

Best wishes to all our local and regular visitors for Christmas and the New Year, a big thank you from the staff and myself for your support especially in the difficult months of 2011.
