Excellent Kiya I have four, how do I sex them ? I'm assuming it's the guys chasing the girls around and trying to look cool, or could they be gay? Iv'e had them for 8 weeks.
Is it true that I can only 'welease them (like 'wodger) after a chick has been born ?
As every one round here has flocks, I remember an old boy spraying or dying his flock blue, they looked pretty cool and didn't seem to mind a bit, What's your brothers opinion on that ?
Any help greatly appreciated....8)

Here goes drwho

Hens are smaller than cocks, they have a smaller white wattle on their beaks ( on top of beak )

Females could be gay if they are separated from the cocks also they could lay eggs but wont be fertilised.

You can release them at anytime before, during or after having chicks.

After you pair them up it takes 10 days to lay the 1st egg, then between 24-36 hours they will lay a 2nd egg, once the 2nd egg is layed they will start incubating.

They lay 2 eggs at any one time.

The eggs will hatch in about 18 days & then the young will be fully grown in 21 days, you can separate them from the parents once you see them feeding on their own.

My brother thinks its stupid to spray them & can see no need for it.

Hope this answers some of your questions.
