Tahina dip is very easy to make.
Put your tahina paste in a bowl, blend in a bit of lemon juice, add a bit of pressed garlic and enough water to thin it down to the right consistency and salt to taste. Then just beat it all together. Sometimes a little dribble of white vinegar makes it a touch sharper.
It also looks very similar to the Hoummos dip - and sometimes you can only know the difference when you taste.
Hoummos dip.
Can of chickpeas, tahina paste, crushed garlic, olive oil, lemon juice and salt to taste and fresh black pepper. Whizz all this in a blender or processor.
The other one with the green bits in could be one of a few things - baba ghanough (slightly greyish in colour), the mysterious Mish dip (slightly orangey in colour) or yoghurt dip or thommeya (both sort of whitish) All of these have green bits in too!
