It takes place (assuming it takes place) at midnight tonight (Thurs) - becoming 1am Friday.

My flight is more than a month from now and I have not heard from Egyptair (yet), but under "My Bookings" on their web page, I can see that there is a
schedule change. My 6:30 flight to Cairo has been cancelled which is the norm, they have put me on the next one as usual, but that is scheduled to leave at the normal time: 7:20, which gives me an extra hour in Cairo where my international has been rescheduled one hour.
I have to confirm on the web page and choose my favorite seats and order my special meal all over. They will probably send the usual email a few days before departure.

Egypt’s official airline EgyptAir announced on Thursday that departing flights will take off an hour later due to daylight saving time.
Starting Friday 16 May, Egypt will switch to summer time by setting clocks one hour forward. The change will be lifted during Ramadan, however.
In April 2011, the cabinet headed by then-prime minister Essam Sharaf endorsed a decree cancelling daylight saving time.
Daylight saving time was first adopted in Egypt in 1988 as a way to reduce electricity consumption. The electricity and energy ministry later submitted a study to the cabinet revealing that the change had no impact in this regard.
In Egypt, the standard time is GMT (UTC) + 2 and so GMT + 3 during daylight saving time.

So it is as I suggested some days ago. Times in and out of Egypt (for International Flights) are being adjusted so that overseas arrival and departure times are not changed. :-)
This will impact on connecting flights within Egypt unless internal flight timings are also adjusted. :-(

Thomson have updated their website to show the change to daylight saving time. As I don't have a record of the previous times to hand, I can't be sure whether the times have changed in Luxor or at Gatwick, but from memory I think that it is the Luxor times that have changed. Check before you fly or book connections!

He said wait until after 15th & by then they may have sorted it out, or else they are hoping the Gov't will abandon the whole idea & they won't need to make any changes.

No hope! Ive just checked the Egyptair website. Its showing my flight out on 9June taking 4 and a half hours, but the return flight in August is showing at 6 and a half hours ...........

That would be right - wouldn't it? If the flight between the UK and Egypt is 4.5 physical hours then the timings from the UK to Egypt would appear as being 6.5 because Egypt is now BST + 2 hrs.

No - according to Egyptair's description that is the "duration" time of the flights so according to them the duration of one flight is 2 hrs shorter than the return flight of the same distance .

With regard to flights between Cairo and City X, it's reasonable to assume the Cairo departure time is correct. As for the arrival time in X....take it with a large pinch of salt

Hmm ...Is it [supposed to be] a direct flight? If not, they've not allowed extra time at Cairo have they?
Having been through this chaos myself I'm now happy as long as I'm at the airport in time to check in and the flight takes off on time. The only thing left to do is to sit back and relax and hope I arrive in the right place after the appropriate number of hours. Having my driver there to meet me at the other end at the right time is bonus!
