I've been reading TA and some tourists are opting for Hurghada instead.
So..is Hurghada awash with tourists at the moment?Or is it also suffering from lack of them?
Luxor never ever really recovered post revolution.
So is this dreadful incident the death-knell for Sharm tourism?
Will this man-made,purpose built resort become a great big white elephant?
Or do you think it will rise again like a phoenix and be the popular place it was?
Hurghada is suffering from a complete lack of Russian tourists. There are now very few coaches each day from Hurghada to Luxor.

I can assure you there's one person in Hurghada who's NOT suffering from the absence of Russians

Regarding the delaying of flights, it's up to the Flight Companies and I doubt there is a quick fix, they will not fly I suspect until the investigation into the Russian Air crash is complete and reported on. So really the delay is up to the Aircraft Investigators not reporting on the cause of the crash. I am sure when they due flights will be either put on or delayed until whatever needs to be done. Either way Airlines are responsible for their passenger safety and until they are assured of such nothing will move. No mention of Russia suspending their flights then!! Only the UK....

A specialist British team has been sent to assess security arrangements after fresh intelligence led Downing Street to declare that the Airbus plane carrying 224 passengers "may well have been brought down by an explosive device".
But Egyptian foreign minister Sameh Shoukry told the BBC that was "a premature and unwarranted statement" which risked devastating consequences for the country's vital tourism industry.1
I go back to Jewel's initial post here on the 5th November to simply put the question, why has Egypt not shouting from the roof top to the world, that by now they have installed top grade security equipment that is as good as Heathrow, or even better.
By now, everyone in the world sees that the problem occurred at an Egyptian airport, where we all know on here their security was, and seems still is inadequate. For what few $Million it will cost, Egypt is losing $500 Million per week.
Anyone who is generally studying Egyptian life, can see it is moving from one avoidable crisis to another almost on a daily basis. Now we learn that a line of government minister have over the Christmas been sacked on corruption charges, and most have only had their jobs a few months,..............is there no one in Egypt President Sisi can trust ?

I think it's just been announced that Sisi is forming an investigative committee to trawl through all the state institutions for signs of corruption.
Interesting....but
quis custodiet ipsos custodes ?
