The next photo competition for June and the months to follow will have the uploading and rating open till the end of the month, so the quicker you upload a photo you might get more ratings due to more people viewing your photo.
Not sure about that bit DJK, on first read I didn't spot that rating can go on through the month. Not a level playing field but let's see how it pans out???
I will now vote to start things off

We will give it a try Grandad to see how it goes, my thoughts were that it might be easier for members to rate the photos bit by bit when they see new uploads rather than spend lots of time going through each photo near the end of the month to rate them, (but if you want you could wait till the end of the month to do all your ratings, its up to you). also people tend to vote on a photo by comparing it to other photos in the competition, so early uploaders photos wont have many other photos to compare against so a true rating on that particular photo might be awarded.
Remember you can only rate a photo 1 time and.......
@BRIAN you cant rate your own photo
I will also close the comments for the photo competition section so that nothing is given away in the comments to who's photo it might be, comments can be added when the top 5 winners move to the
Previous Competition Winners section

OK - this was my topic - and I wouldn't want to change the rules at the moment in any way - but why not alter the marking system, so that the person who chooses the topic then rates the (anonymous) photos him/herself to select a winner?

OH STAN, ive just spent days re-programming the album

I think its best to keep it like ive said at the moment, just letting the winner of the previous comp rate the photos does not give our members much say in the comp, plus what happens if the member decides to have a break from the forum etc....

OK its fixed JOJO, the code that controls the rating is tied in the same code as the comments, so I will have to leave the comments running at all time, Just dont give any indication that its your photo by replying Thanks etc to anyone who as praised your photo.

Well done all who submitted entries, they gave me a lot of pleasure.
I don't know if I'm alone in this, but I have a habit of re-visiting the album regularly to view the subjects and seem to find something different each time to admire in each and every picture.
Thank you everyone and congratulations to the winners.
