I ate beetroot when I was five and then got measles. Never eaten it since. I like to think I'm intelligent but even now I hear myself telling people not to eat it cos they'll get measles! Don't think I'm ever going to break the habit.

I tried ol'ass for the first time today
My husband came home with a bag of the things a few days ago - I looked from the contents to him and asked what on earth it was. He replied "golgass" as though we'd eaten them millions of times before

So I asked what he suggested I do with them and he muttered something about it being dead simple and involving stock, garlic, and coriander.
I chucked them in the bottom of the fridge and promptly forgot all about them. Until yesterday - dh decided he'd really like some ol'ass and took them down to mil so she could make it
We now have a full casserole pot full of cubed ol'ass (has the texture of a very dense soft potato) in a garlicky, corinadery, soup! I keep having to try another bowl to make up my mind if I like it or not!!

Have you decioded whether you like it yet, or has it gone off by now?
