Carry On shops.

Many of us will know that during Ramadan there are available temporary outlet units that sell essential food items for the poor, where such items are subsidised by the government. These places are available throughout the country.

The government has now agreed to set up small permanent stores nationwide, that will certainly be in direct competition with local supermarkets. These stores called simply Carry On will offer a guaranteed supply of subsidiesd goods that should be available to families of a low income throughout the year, and not just during Ramadan.

Three of these such stores have already opened in Cairo, the president of Egypt has announced that every town and large village throughout the nation will have such a shop. My only criticism, is that such places will not include the sale of bread, which in truth should be taken out of the hands of the local bakeries. The reason being is that when there are shortages, the bakeries weight their subsidised bread with grit, a well known fact throughout Egypt, and in truth a major factor in the downfall of Mubarak.

Certainly a very apt name for these 'good cause' shops, as I expect their administration could well fall into the same category as the erstwhile films of that genre!

In my village everyone works, from toddlers to old ladies. All day long. (except for the afternoon kip)
At the end of our street is a pop-up cheap butchers during Ramadan as there is also an essential goods,
pop-up down towards the ferry.

Still there are some very poor people around me, but the quality from the rich to the poor is improving in 'leaps and bounds.
Just look at all the new motorized vehicles around, motor cycles, Touro-cycles, new people carriers, new cars.
Villas. Even the kids now ride bikes rather than play with old tyres..

It seems to me that our President El SiSi is not doing to bad a job. "Not a job most people would want. imho.

Back in London the amount of times I have observed shoplifting, even to the point of kicking one as he was stealing
the backup stock of coffee. In 'My local CoOp... lol.
If one must 'shoplift, try Harrods, Fortum & Mason, Waitrose's, Harvey Nicks not Tesco's or The CoOp, ffs.

That's the difference twixt there and here, it's called moral integrity, 'er I think!

Anyhow I have more things to worry about like, playing with my new DIY lift (l' ascenseur) from ground floor to
my yet to be built roof bar. lol....
