One of my old local pubs was the amazing Filthy's just round the corner 3 minutes up the hill.
'Filthy McNasty's The Whiskey Cafe' an amazing institution with a highly eclectic customer base.
I once watched Nick with my godson Otto sitting in the sun outside talking and drinking to Ken Babbs and
Ken Kesey. ( who they ? look them up! )
Gerry the owner who now owns The Boogaloo knew many people and many people knew Gerry.
We used to hold book launches there, hilarious fun. I once watched a group of youngsters ask
Nick if they could have his autograph, it was his first. lol.
The passing of Shane bought all the old memories back.
That Babyshambles pr*t Doherty was a barman and Shane was never that pi*sed, he acted out what people expected.
