Lecture at Thebes hotel Wednesday 13 November 6 pm.
New aspects at Gebel el- Silsila West, by Dr. Moamen Saad Mohamed Director at MA, Member of the Swedish mission.
Gebel el-Silsila has been studied by the Swedish mission since 2012, on behalf of Lund University and in cooperation with the Egyptian Antiquity Services. This scientific, international team includes 85 professional researchers, archaeologists and digital recorders. Until the Swedish mission begun work in 2012, no detailed archaeological study had been carried out. The Swedish concession now holds a permission to excavate, preserve and to continue its comprehensive documentation in cooperation with the Egyptian authorities. The archaeology at Gebel el-Silsila is astonishing. The team has surveyed and excavated various monuments and quarries dating to Pharaoh Amenhotep III and his son, Amenhotep IV, later known as Akhenaten. Attention has now turned to Tutankhamun and site institutions used during his reign, namely a quarry and the workers’ village.
The hotel request a small contribution from the participants of the lecture, 25le. With this 25 le you can order a soft drink or coffee. Tickets will be given upon entering the hotel.

25le, I hear has been introduced due to the fact that guests do not spend any money buying drinks.
Funny really as most archaeologists I know, seem to love a tipple or two or three.....
Ps: Dusty all that digging.....

The last lecture I went to a couple of weeks ago (the Qurn) I tried and tried to get a drink but couldnt! In fairness I arrived a little late, 6pm, and all the waiters were busy moving chairs into the lecture room. There was no-one on the bar, I tried several times to catch someone's attention, but they were just too busy.

I surreptitiously noticed, for you tonight was different.
Ps: lecture ? they found loads of old stuff, I mean really old stuff...
Now,,, if they had found a 'banksy!

P*ss: So, 3 x glasses Red - 1 Meister beer, how much ? I never ask.
It was a really good turn out and they all sat around after and invibed...
My mate Abdel was well-happy, but then we did share a 'smokey-comestible..
Oh! yeh! Quote: "In fairness I arrived a little late, 6pm,
