A partial lunar eclipse is expected to occur in Egypt and the Arab world on Tuesday and Wednesday.
It will be the last eclipse this year, but the only in 2019 that will be visible to sky watchers in Egypt.
This eclipse will occur as the month of Dhu al-Qadah of the Hijri year 1440 nears its end.
During a lunar eclipse, the Earth casts a shadow on the Moon. This shadow has a central and outer shadow called umbra and penumbra, respectively.
A penumbral lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon does not fall in the umbra at all and is always present in the penumbra. Naturally, a partial lunar eclipse always starts off as a penumbral lunar eclipse.
In Egypt, people will be able to witness the penumbral lunar eclipse starting Tuesday at 8:42 p.m. Cairo local time and ending at 2:19 a.m. on Wednesday.
