Perhaps the BBC should look at the Travel programme and go to places where Mr and Mrs Average go to instead of going to such places that no one can afford. Inform folk about visa requirements. As yet they haven't visited Luxor or anything to do with tourism in the area.
As you may have noticed, Mr & Mrs Average (at least the UK variety) aren’t going to Luxor in great numbers.

I recall seeing their wheelchair-bound reporter doing Cairo a few months ago. Brave soul

most over 75's are on the old system and get a basic of £129.00 per week without any top up as it is based upon a two tier system, if they are lucky they may be getting the new single payment of 168.60 a week hardly what I would call wealthy.
That's most over 75s then.

And the rest are?

Are you still banging on with your ridiculous claim that a pensioner living off £129.00 p/w plus some pension credit is wealthy? Any pensioner over 75 must by default be on the lower sum and unlike todays snowflakes will have worked at least 50 years to qualify for a state pension as compared with no doubt your own generation that will only need 30 qualifying years and then qualify for the higher figure without having to claim pension credit. Therefore even £1 of pension credit will cost the over 75's the free licence, so they receive £4.00 per month and pay out £12.00, obviously math is not your strong point. Now was that simple enough for you too? you really have no idea do you? I bet your granny loves you.

No, because obviously I never made that claim.

Are you still banging on with your ridiculous claim that not a single pensioner can afford to pay the BBC licence fee?

The whole ridiculous thing about this subject is that it was dreamt up in 2015 by Co-co the clown and his side kick, aka Cammeron and Osbourne, to get one over the B.B.C., any fool knows it will cost more to put the system into practice, than getting the revenue, but a smart crooked way that a government can switch responsibility.

It's a bit like that Stingfellow chap who said he did not want his old age bus pass, at a time when the then Chancellor of the Exchequer made it available nationwide. It would cost the nation more to means test the bus pass.

From how I see the future in the U.K. regarding means testing the retired average person, anyone under 60 years of age should quickly get rid of any Isa's, Tessa's and any other so called tax free products they have.

Although I see you have not mentioned the good old Beeb being denounced by all and sundry for their actions and their left wing bias (which I did claim) when it came to supporting Jo Brand one of their favourite left wing comediennes for suggesting people throw battery acid on Nigel Farage instead of a milkshake, this on a BBC radio programme, yet sacking Danny Baker at the drop of a hat for posting a Tweet with a photo of a monkey in a suit, both were jokes in my opinion. Anyway keep your eyes peeled, I think that Billy Goat Gruff may be crossing over your bridge. :cg

Lets not mention the Paedophiles the BBC harboured or the fact the BBC reported WTC 7 falling down 20 minutes before it happened and while it is still clearly visible in the background as the reporter is talking....

I'm sure it is against the law to fund Peadophiles and terrosrists, as only the perputrators could have that knowledge.

Oddly enough, the live feed got cut off..... :tk

I agree about the Paedo's, but maybe they were just showing a delayed video feed when they were told it had happened.

Certainly seems more likely than Auntie being part of some international plot to blow up the twin towers

Actually, there was a perfectly rational explanation given at the time.....but I can’t be arsed to dig it up.

Not that any rational explanation will convince the conspiracy theorists that anyone but Bin Laden..from Israel to theAmericans themselves......was behind the attack.

Not much of a fan of them myself, most conspiracies usually have a rational explanation.

So we're agreed that some pensioners can afford to pay the licence fee.

What exactly is your argument then? That those pensioners who can afford to pay should get it free anyway? Just because they're really old or something?

I'll take that as "Yes, I believe all pensioners should get free TV licences, no matter how wealthy they are".

Sometimes it's just too easy to argue the right wing into a corner ;)

You can take it to mean whatever you want if it just stops you from stamping your feet like a petulant child intent on getting your own way, even if the only way you can do it is to try and put words in my mouth to try and score a point.

Now I am rather busy with the forums at the moment, far too busy to keep replying to your silly argumentative attempts to prove yourself right by bisecting the minutia of every comment in an attempt to find something to disagree with. You are starting to behave like a troll so please desist. 8) If you have a problem with that please PM me.

Horus, have you still not worked out who the Thompson Twins are on this forum, so far I have had four e-mails from different members, saying that they are concerned how these two react to my posts,......I simply ignore both, and have done so for a few years now,.......if you don't believe me check.

Don't worry A4, I have been doing this job far too long not to know who is who and where their allegiances lie and of course the motives behind most posts when they are made. It’s always worth remembering that when you try to take the **** out of the compare that it is he who has the microphone. ;)
