Easyjet ends restrictions on electronic items
Security requirements on flights from Turkey and Egypt
14/12/2017
Update:
You may be aware of UK Government restrictions preventing the carriage of larger electronic items, such as kindles, tablets, laptops and their peripherals, in the cabin of aircraft flying from Egypt to the UK.
Please be advised that with immediate effect this restriction has been lifted for easyJet flights from Hurghada to the UK. You are now permitted to carry all of these electronic devices and peripherals into the cabin of the aircraft.

Re: Easyjet ends restrictions on electronic items
That is a good thing for people flying out of Luxor with EasyJet!!! I have used EasyJet for the first time, into UK out of UK, and return and found them to satisfy all I wanted my return flights were only 127 Euros so could not expect much, but in the end it was good value.

Would be nice if people could fly out of Luxor with Easyjet.
Are other airlines lifting the ban?

I thought Egyptair already had (maybe that was just to US?)carrie wrote:Would be nice if people could fly out of Luxor with Easyjet.

In any case, the other airlines won't be far behind, I would imagine, as the ban was government-inspired.

Re: Easyjet ends restrictions on electronic items
If I recall correctly, EgyptAir removed the restriction for flights out of Cairo. But I don't remember seeing anything about the weekly Luxor flight.

It is probably wise to check directly with Egyptair.Brian Yare wrote:If I recall correctly, EgyptAir removed the restriction for flights out of Cairo. But I don't remember seeing anything about the weekly Luxor flight.
The UK notice refers specifically to flights from Hurghada and Marsa Alam. No mention of Luxor.

I had a rext of T Cook today saying the ban on their planes from Hurghada has been lifted with immediate effect.

Is a rext a cross between a wreck and a text?denisegr wrote:I had a rext of T Cook today saying the ban on their planes from Hurghada has been lifted with immediate effect.

It's really difficult to know what information is right and what is wrong, there is far too many differences in what happens and what actually happens.

The restrictions are still in place flying from Luxor to Heathrow but you can carry tablets/laptops in cabin from Heathrow to Luxor. This is according to Egyptair.

Left Luxor last week with EA not a word said about my laptop or my 5 cartons of fags.
