I was Surprised when i saw Egyptians being interviewed in Greece having just travelled in a boat risking life or death to get to Europe

The Egyptians were one of the first to attempt these crossings, well before the currant deluge. But the dangers are the same for all that attempt this foolhardy method. Desperation leads to such decisions.

I doubt they came in a boat from Egypt....too far.

Probably they'd somehow made it to Turkey and then crossed to Greece.

In today's news it has been stated by the Coptic. Catholic, and Evangelical churches that all activities and events (think it said things like outings, holidays, conferences) will be cancelled/stopped for the rest of July because of security concerns.
If I find the article again I'll post it.

Don't know about that, but a few months back a news item stated that police were rounding up those people with boats that were known suppliers to the people smuggling gangs, boats that were leaving from the Port Fuad? area.

Of course Egyptians leave on ramshackle inflatables from North Africa as well.

They usually end up on Lampedusa , or are rescued and taken to Sicily or the Italian mainland...or they drown.

I've never heard of any making it to Greece by boat .
