More than 70,000 migrants have travelled from Egypt and Libya to Italy so far this year, but now the North African country is threatening to do nothing to stem the flow – prompting fears countless more could enter Europe in the coming months.
The flare-up in relations comes after Italian politicians voted to stop supplying Egypt with spare parts for F-16 fighter jets after the North African nation failed to investigate the death of an Italian student in Cairo.

According to the Express article......
A spokesman said: "We regret the decision and are considering taking similar measures that affect areas of co-operation with Italy.
Seems a bit of a supposition on the part of Express....to say the least....to jump to the conclusion that the Egyptian authorities will now be waiving immigrants on to Lampedusa

I expect a lot of young Egyptians hope there is some truth in the article...but I suspect they'll be disappointed

Re: Egypt retaliates against Italy
All the EU need to do to stop the influx is to blow up a few boats. OK people will die but in the long run it will stop more drowning when their overcrowded boats sink in bad weather.

One can only imagine what your solution might be for Egypt's "over-populated" problem
