Bee's wax

Post by Dusak »

Does anyone know if you can buy natural bee's wax polish for new furniture in Luxor?

There is a shop on the same street as Secret Garden on the same side but nearer the police station at the end. That's the only place I can think of you can get it or maybe the monastery where they keep hives.

I use beeswax, honey and glycerin to seal the air bag for my pipes, because you cannot get the proper sealer here, works a treat. I have to melt down though the beeswax block.

Well then why don't you tell Dusak where you obtain your beeswax?

Friends bring it for me in blocks ready to melt down and mix with honey and glycerin when I require it. There are plenty of suppliers of Bee's Honey in Egypt, I would think that if one of the manufacturers were contacted they will be able to give you advice on where to purchase. Next time you buy honey look at the label. When I buy Bee's wax I buy it in solid blacks that can be cut to size for the job, it is also not pure bee's wax with sediments combined. If that is good for furniture though I do not know.

If that's the case then,
if one drives toward the bridge right on that dodgy corner leaving Luxor just before the Movenpick,
on the right is a plant nursery that sells it's own honey and molasses, nice old blokes their bound to have some,
mind you take someone who 'speeky da lingo..

Thanks carrie, I think that the easy way is to get my friend to bring me a large tub out, but thanks for the info. Just thought that a while ago I saw a block of something that resembles wax in the B&Q, I'm certain my friend said it was something to do with bees and needed melting down. I will ask her. GD will know but she will keep it close to her chest. :D
