How did they die?
Was it from natural causes in a tank with other fish?

Or were they living in your garden pond?

Only experience I ever had with goldfish was winning them at fairgrounds.
They all died as well, shortly after being won.

Have they got oxygenating plants, an aeration pump, any sign of fungal disease? What are you feeding them? Is it suitable? Is it enough? Is it too much? If too much is the excess destroying the water quality, are they overcrowded .............

That'll do for a start! 8)

The pond is 12ft x 9ft x 2 ft deep the temperature is 75oF..
I have one air pump plus an aerating waterfall, they have many plants to eat and some indecipherable chinese food and now only 6 goldfish left.
I also have a pillow case floating in it full of perhaps 'barley straw to clear the visibility, they say on the internet hay straw is no-good,
and I'm not sure what straw I have.
So, onward and upward, today's shopping trip I will buy another air pump remove the straw and buy some paint for the house....

This maybe a reason. Today my friend tells me that on the local news and in the newspaper it stated that the Nile had been severely poisoned from some kind of chemical discharge from the Aswan area. It is, apparently, over time and the amount consumed, quite toxic so they are advising all to boil their water before drinking/using it. Loud speaker vans have been to her village telling all to go to the local village clinic for advice. Blue in colour but no information as to what it is.

How long had the goldfish been in your pond, how many are they and how big, were they all bought at the same time, if not how long since last arrivals, how long have you been putting straw in, if recent consider contamination from agrochemicals, did the fish die suddenly, when you feed them are they all eager for the food, do you have a smaller tank/container that you can put all the fish in for closer observation/medication?
If so consider removing them from the pond for a while.

Important when and where was the original source of te pond water and has any been added recently?

Note a bale of straw in Uk will clear a farm pond. Small bales about the size of large loaf of bread are sold for domestic ponds in UK.

All this takes me back - as part of my job I was once responsible for 48 tanks of tropical fish and sold many hundreds of goldfish as well each week.
Big business, but not as big as the chap next door who sold Koi Carp and once bought one for tens of thousands of pounds in the 1980s which died shortly after arriving in UK. I suggested he might feel gutted at her loss - "Are you crazy" he said "The free advertising I got in the media more than paid for her." His fish which were over 3 feet long, were kept under cover in a large swimming pool where the temperature was kept high and they grew at a phenomenal rate.

Just popped down to Gezera bought another pond aerator and 3 meters of pipe and broke down 6 times. ruddy jeep!
The fish were all bought at the same time they don't seem interested in their food and the water comes from the Nile to the pumping station opposite then to my roof tank then into the pond.
Plus on average 1 death per day. I suppose I could put them in my 'plunge pool for a holiday..shwia,shwia 'bis-mila...
Ps: back to work plus fixing the petrol pump, la whaala!

May be relevant, but equally may not be...

I was staying with a friend a couple of weeks ago who has an outside goldfish pond. Apparently the goldfish barely eat in winter and are able to sustain themselves somehow throughout. Assuming that the temperatures have dropped a bit in Luxor, could it be that you are putting food in your pond that is not being eaten but is somehow poisoning the water?

Well I have always viewed my whole life as 'problem solving from climbing 50ft ladders aged 4 to figuring out perpetual motion aged 66
and all those little problems one is faced with or thrown at in ones life in-between.
'Like once meeting a 6.5ft 20stone black geezer with attitude in Pentonville's 'communal showers
It's all a matter of one's perspective, one's attitude and one's will to survive...I'd die tomorrow without the challenges.

Goldfish ? it was just something to get people chatting,
as Bob said on telly "It's good to talk" even if most of it 'verbal garbage or shite as spoken at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary...
back to work....who could have thought 'goldfish ?
