This is really a question for newcastle.
Have you noticed any difference in security in Hurghada over the past few days?
Are there still "inexperienced"hotel staff patrolling the streets?Or has security been handed over to the military?
Reason I ask,is that my erstwhile beau, working in El Gouna has been frantically calling me!
Why?..after 4 months without any contact?
Could it be that his job is now non-existant?
Could it be that the Russian goose has now flown..never to return?
God forbid that he now want's to come to Scotland..and thinks I'll be a party in securing him a visa!!
He obviously enjoyed the "good times"in Hurghada,the money,the women,etc.
Now..I reckon he's facing unemployment and clutching at a "Scottish"straw!
A "fairweather"friend..and as it's pissing down here in Scotland,I'll just continue to ignore his calls!
Hurghada.

Re: Hurghada.
Hurghada ? brilliant place, always have fun there, eat and buy loads of fish, get pis*** in the Hard Rock and, in my local hotel basement is a traditional 'wood lined 'hunting type scene English boozer that only kick's-off at midnight.
(it's where all the other bar's staff meet after work)
Plus you can buy really good stuff in the Marine Shops, no haggling either when you want a few lamps. great place when a pal fly's in on the 'cheap.
'You also see some of the portrait that is Egypt when coming over the mountain to Luxor...
