For a long time I assumed that Amenhotep I and Thutmosis I were brothers but I no longer think so. Recent analyst has discovered that thier was a break between the royal family between the two kings and I wonder if Thutmosis I's father was someone outside the royal family.
My suspicions began with a man named Ahmose called Turo who served as the viceroy of Kush during the reigns of both Amenhotep I and Thutmosis I. He even servec under Ahmose as the commander of Buhen. Furthermore, he was mentioned duting the coronatio. Of Thutmosis I, he was a pretty important figure at the time.
I see a likely scenario is that whoever is the father of Thutmosis I married a King's daughter of a lesser wife thus the son became the next heir to the throne.

Re: Father of Thutmosis I
Hello everyone how are you all? Yeah I know its been awhile since i was on this forum and all but I've had a lot going on with my personal life but in the midst of my troubles I was able to do a lot of studying pacifically on the early 18th dynasty of Egypt. during my studies i was trying to figure who could have been the possible father to Thutmosis I. At first I thought it would be Ahmose Sepair one of the sons of Ahmoses I but he died young as well as some of Ahmoses other sons all except one, Ramose. I first believe that Ramose was the father of Thutmosis I it seems likely but i have another person in mind too.
What if Ahmose I is actually the father of Thutmosis I?

I would not rule that out, but what evidence do you have?Frater0082 wrote:What if Ahmose I is actually the father of Thutmosis I?

Re: Father of Thutmosis I
As we probably have the mummies (arguably!) of Ahmose I - in Luxor Museum as it happens - Amenhotep I (the only one not unwrapped) & Tuthmosis I, DNA testing might indicate (arguably!) if there was a family relationship.
But in the current situation within the Antiquities department I don't imagine there's much enthusiasm for spending time or money on such matters
