PUK code?

Post by HEPZIBAH »

Help please...Just tried to access my travel phone which has most of my Egyptian and Moroccan numbers stored in it. It wouldn't accept my pin code and has now asked for a PUK code. What is that and how would I find out what it is?

Getting nowhere fast this afternoon. :(

It is a misspelt acronym for the UK branch of French Collection.

Hepzibah when you buy your sim card it comes in a box like that of a CD on the outside of the box is a white lable with the PUK number on it. If you haven't still got the box then I can't help I'm afraid.

Thanks Carrie - your help was no help at all.  You are right but the problem is that my phone is ancient - and my sims are not much newer!
Actually, the Moroccan sim didn't come with anything - and trying to charge your phone up with credit there is still a mystery to me. I have problems in Egypt as I forget the codes but in Morocco you have to hand your phone over and your phone number and then the credit seems to go to the shop keepers phone and he transfers it to you. All very odd.

I digress...I've managed to put my hands on my Egyptian sim and it has unlocked to that OK so I can at least access the numbers stored on the phone. I'll sort the using the Moroccan sim out another time.

In the meantime a godly hero came my way and has given me a link which will no doubt be of help to me. :)

Thanks Wills but that didn't work either. :(

Looks like I was cleverer than I realised though as have just found a cod in my UK phone that I didn't know I'd stored, or more to the point didn't know what it was for. It was the PUK and it looks as though I've been able to re-set my passcode! BIG sigh of relief.

Thank you to all who tried to help me - it was much appreciated.

And for 'cod' please read 'code' - there was nothing fishy going on. If there had been I managed to hook some of you and reel you in. It was just my fingers that had turned to jelly and nothing to do with being down at eel and losing my sole.

(Anyone spot a red herring?)

:urm: I wonder...should I take that as a compliment that you should use my own joke so soon after I have posted it or could it be a case of obvious plagiarism.

Nothing to do with the post as such, but on Wednesday I was watching you-tube. About an hour later I got cut off and my pinger on my Etisalat messenger sounded. Opened the message but it was in Arabic so had to wait for my friend to read it. It said that I am only allowed to view you-tube on Fridays and Saturdays. :ni: Whats that about then?
