A WOMAN'S POEM.
He didn't like the casserole,
And he didn't like her cake.
He said her biscuits were too hard...
Not like his mother used to make.
She didn't perk the coffee right
He didn't like the stew.
She didn't mend his socks,
The way his mother used to do.
She pondered for an answer
She was looking for a clue.
Then she turned and smacked his face in,
Like his mother used to do.

That the twisting kaleidoscope moves us all in turn.

I offer the following ...for balance ;) Likewise, I cannot claim credit.
Remain a member of the European Union
Untie our island from its moorings so we can gently drift
Into squalid isolation...

A poem that will give you goose bumps..............
A drunk man in an old battered truck,
They said had run the light,
That caused the six-car pileup
On 109 that night.
When broken bodies lay...

Is there anybody there?’ said the Traveller,
Knocking on the moonlit door;
And his horse in the silence champed the grasses
Of the forest’s ferny floor:
And a bird flew up out of the turret,...

Thank you Zooropa, I haven't read any Walter de La Mare for years, and yet he was my first favourite poet too.
I shall take great pleasure in renewing his acquaintance. 8)

THE MAN WHO THINKS HE CAN..!
If you think you're beaten, you will be,
If you think you daren't, you don't,
If you'd like to win, but think you can't,

Interesting moral to the story and actually true. We DO tend to listen to ourselves and come to believe whatever we tell ourselves.
