Last Night again...
Long time since I heard this song, so I played it last night before going to bed.
Sat on the back door step, watching the rain, breathing in the smells of the night, enhanced by the dense air, brew and ciggie in each hand..
Then it hit me.. Bloody hell this is a powerful song, and now makes more sense to me than it did back in '76.
The clouds seemed to clear in synchronisation with the lyrics, revealing momentarily an eye in the sky.
Jim Steinman really is under rated..

New link inserted.. Any better Carrie ?
May have to ask Keefy to find a mobile version for you all if not.
He'll probably do it as well, as I think he likes Meat Loaf..

Re: Last Night again...
Thank you BM works fine now, when my son who used to live here returned to the UK left he a lot of CD's with me, some of which where Meat Loaf, I have never listened to them because "I don't like Meat Loaf". Think I might just give them a go this evening. Thanks again.

Re: Last Night again...
My mother claimed not to have liked my music Carrie..
One thing I have realised is that when I was at school, she must have spun a few of those vinyl discs on the turntable, and taken an interest..
They dont make 'em that short anymore..
The lead singer and guitarist is Eric Stewart of 10cc Fame...
They say "some Mother's do have 'em", I think its the other way around...

Re: Last Night again...
This Song, another short song from 1966, was written by the Other Half of 10cc,
Mr Graham Gouldman..
No Milk Today..
I was a big 10cc Fan back in the mid to late 70's, this is the 3rd part of what I consider to be their best song.
Graham Gouldman drops a really mean bass solo, while still maintaining the bass beats, at about 2:31. Genius
Eric Stewart on Lead vocals and guitar again... this was performed back in about 1982...

Re: Last Night again...
I remember seeing the Mindbenders in a club in Salford years ago, believe me when I say I am the very worst singer in the world but have enjoyed dancing round the flat giving it full voice to that track. Happy bunny.

"Bat out of hell?"
It's one of the most iconic albums of the century!
Everyone I know has it!I got it on vinyl.
My personal fave is "Two outa three ain't bad"
How often have I heard it?Too many times to mention! Is it apt?Absolutely!
"Paradise by dashboard light"is fantastic Glasgow karaoke song. They all "murder"it!But c'est la vie...they enjoy it!!!

Re: Last Night again...
It was the first album that when I heard it, I was in awe, each track just got better and better.
My mate who lived on the farm next door brought it up from London where he was in college, and we played it on his stereo system.
it was unbelievable and I had to go and get my own copy as soon as funds would allow.
2 out of 3 is a very cleverly written song, on many levels. a lesson..
Meat Loaf is a man i admire, as is Jim Steinman the creator of all these wonderful songs.
Fact is, Jim Steinman was going to release Bat out of Hell, but allegedly he damaged his nose, and could not sing well at the time.
Who knows if the Album would have had the same impact if Jim had released the album by himself with him singing ?
Circumstances & Fate..

Re: Last Night again...
Did anyone ever buy those copy records that were sold in Woolworths, they had artists on them that tried their very best to sound like the originals, often failing miserably, but they were half the price of the originals.

Re: Last Night again...
Oh yes, they were awful Carrie...
You got the occasional track on those albums that was passable, but we lived in the times where this music was quite literally a gift from God, through those who created it, co creations..
The imitations were just that, imitations.

Re: Last Night again...
Jim Steinman Rock and Roll Dreams come Through.
A very clever video, to accompany a very clever song..
There is a longer version of this video out there, if you like the video and song, then go and find it.
Even those who dont appreciate Rock and Roll but have a bit of depth to their soul can understand this little gem.
