Well, I'll say, they added a bunch of sand and beach sunshades around the sacred lake.

Re: Live Stream from Karnak Temple
There were a lot more people on yesterday's feed, including a few at the Son et Lumiere. At one point a guard wandered through with a torch. I have yet to locate the storm, but it must be on there somewhere.
Thanks for the link

I can see twelve people - a group and some Egyptian looking couples.

That's better than when I looked a couple of days ago. I think the high winds must have moved the camera because all I could see then was a closeup of stone walls!

The camera (or feed) got jammed overnight, but is working again now, and the temple is quite busy. Dry and sunny too!BBLUX wrote:That's better than when I looked a couple of days ago. I think the high winds must have moved the camera because all I could see then was a closeup of stone walls!

Same here as all I saw was two dark skinned hands and a hoody reaching towards the camera then the feed was cut.carrie wrote:Well yesterday it was like watching paint dry today I get a message video not found or failed to function. Great start.

The place is buzzing with folk now, granted most are the usual flock of sheep being lead around by a guide. But it is still good to see people returning.

This is all part of the latest 'see how busy Luxor is' propaganda. If you look closely you will see that the ''people'' are in fact cardboard cut outs being pulled along by fishing line.

Re: Live Stream from Karnak Temple
Well it's all go at the moment two guards, presumably, sitting in the shade. Two men and a woman wearing the black just gone round a corner.
Now I know we keep digressing from the subject line but here I go.
How is it I can go out in light loose clothing, cover my head with a white loose scarf..to keep the sun off not to cover my hair...and I am dripping whilst Egyptian women are muffled up in their black often wearing galabias under that or jeans and they look so cool and collected.
The other day on the ferry a woman looked at me smiled and handed me a tissue, I know they have lived here all their lives but please tell me the secret.

Re: Live Stream from Karnak Temple
I've just watched it for five fascinating minutes
First a couple walk towards the camera, not your typical tourists, look more like locals.
As they leave the screen another couple walk towards the camera. They do have small backpacks and appear to welcome a short rest in the shade before they leave.
As they do a woman wearing a floppy hat, baggy slacks and shirt but hands free without handbag etc. walks towards the camera with the typical Luxor woman's walk ie swinging her arms across her body as if they are tied together by about about half metre of string. Hmmm.
Before she left the screen a workman followed her and then nothing for 2 minutes.
Are these people actors? Do we care?

Re: Live Stream from Karnak Temple
Still quite busy in the heat of the afternoon, but the way the camera is moving around there is probably a bit of a breeze.
Most people seem to be keeping to the southern side of the colonnade where they are in the shade.

Re: Live Stream from Karnak Temple
They move it and/or change the zoom quite often. I quite like watching it during son-et-lumiere in the evening. I have even seen it pointing towards the Nile on occasion.Darkstar wrote:Looks like the camera has shifted a bit, it seems a wider angle that before.
