Last night....
Last night I watched Get Shorty http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0113161/?ref_=sr_1 in honour and respect for the life of Elmore Leonard who died last week.
I had homemade sage & onion lamburger, chips and mushy peas.
Tonight I watch the end of The Crimson Pirate and Now You See Me: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1670345/?ref_=sr_1
Avec, slooooow cooked leg of Lamb in white wine onions and banana leaves with roasted potatoes and a red wine or white wine jus,
I haven't yet decided..
rosé even ?

Re: Last night....
I don't have that many channels out here in the country side (and only three different bottles of wine and two kinds of beer), but Swedish TV is about to show The Big Bounce. Think I'll save some macadamias and give it a chance. Only turned on the TV because Danish TV started showing the very first episodes of Yes Minister this week.

Re: Last night....
I certainly do, but not every evening. The film was boring, so I went "out" - to sit in deep silence in the garden by cool moonlight. I saw two shooting stars five minutes ago, my face and shoulders are burning after a long sunny day and I was too tired to do anything but open a really good bottle and turn on the TV.Scottishtourist wrote:Does no-one "go out"in the evening anymore?
Since I left Luxor for the summer, I have hardly been home. It has been a summer of dancing, celebrating, concerts, travelling, drinking, partying in between enjoying nature, family and the usual arty farty, culture vulture city life that some of us enjoy.
I feel Luxor calling after a great summer - live Egyptian music under the stars, dinner with friends after a day at the temples. "Going out" or staying home, just minding my own business, or simply sitting at the Nile, expecting nothing, just being.

Whatever your sexual preferences are and the time of day you choose to indulge in them is, of course, your business Bombay, but I would caution against putting it on here as you know certain individuals will jump on the chance to comment on it. Like me.Bombay wrote:"Lovelace" at 11pm

Re: Last night....
Today's karkade was too sweet, so on this beautiful summer afternoon, I watered it down. No big deal. At sunset I opened a bottle of white wine that turned out to be sour. When you spend most of the year in Luxor, cheap wine is really a waste of time, when good wine is available. Far out in the country side with no shops, what do you do with sour South African white wine and sweet karkade from Luxor?
Not only was the first blend a perfect balance, the colour matched the glowing red sun behind the birch trees. Tomorrow I shall be going back to the city for one night before a little trip to Norway, so I challenged myself to make something delicious of whatever was left in the kitchen: buckwheat flour, two eggs, soft white French cheese, yesterday's cauliflower soup and leftover cream of ramsons or whatever it is called in English.
I know that it is obvious: creamy soup with a handful of fresh herbs from the garden, cheese that melted on the tongue, blinis with bright green ramson cream topped with a few walnuts. Simple, but tasty and it even matched the table cloth in the garden.
I watched a fabulous sunset while nibbling on these little delicacies sipping a deep red karkade cooler. One of those moments when you wish that someone would show up unannounced, so that you can pretend that this is how you live every day.
