Been to a lovely wedding tonight but one topic of conversation shocked me, apparently Morsi and the MB were planing on selling land to the Israelis so that the Palestinians could be moved there and the Israelis would then move into the Gaza Strip. All the Egyptians there believed this to be true.
Another "report" going the rounds that many tunnels near the Ramla crossing were full tanks of benzine that was being sold to the Israelis, that is why there was such a shortage. Now I am not stating that this is true but those of you who have Egyptian friends ask about it.

Re: Selling land to the Israelis
Yes, I was told about this some time ago, but I understood that Hamas were involved in the dealings. It was widely expected that charges would be brought against Morsi in respect of this, but nothing appears to have happened to date. People I know also allege that Obama was not only in the know about this plan but possibly going to put up funding for it. The issues with the tunnels were not only about the benzine apparently, but with Hamas operatives entering Egypt through them. They have now been bulldozed by the Army which would indicate that they had some serious concerns about them.

Re: Selling land to the Israelis
The land deal was a new one on me (but might explain why the Yanks were so keen to keep Morsi in place! )
I read a couple of news articles about the Hamas fuel tunnels before we went away on July 1st, the amount of fuel leaving here was staggering
