TROLL'S

Post by Dusak »

High on a mountain top was a cave, and within this cave lived a Troll. The Troll sat at the entrance, gazing down into the valley below. A small village lay clustered around the North shore of the valley's lake, and the Troll looked upon this village and felt envy.

Troll's are lonely, unhappy creatures, preferring a life of solitude, even amongst its own kind. But they knew mischief. Troll's could take one the appearance of any living creature and also lived for many hundreds of years and this Troll had practiced its art of mischief for a long, long time. The Troll stood, taking on the appearance of an old Sheppard and descended, entering the village to begin its work.

The only problem the Troll faced is that it can never hide the enjoyment it received from doing its work, its mouth would gape, exposing the rotten fangs and forked tongue as it dished out its misery, grinning all the while. But the Troll was clever, it knew that old human Sheppard's that spent all their lifetime tending the flocks of sheep would suffer greatly with their health, so the Troll would pretend to cough and sneeze, hiding its gaping mouth with its hand as it whispered its lies into the ears of the innocent, destroying their happiness and love, replacing it with grief and disquiet.

After every fifty years of walking the earth, Trolls return to their cave to hibernate for the next five hundred years as this Troll now did, sealing the entrance of its abode until the time came for it to awaken, beginning its vile work again.

The Troll sat, as usual, at the entrance of its cave, fresh from its long hibernation and hungry for fresh mischief. But the Troll was confused, for no longer lay the small hamlet that it had prowled for many years, for what lay below the Troll now was a sprawling city of great size, producing smells, sights and sounds that the Troll could not understand. But what it did recognize was a chance of mischief on a grand scale never before experienced. So the troll stood and began its slow decent, its mouth wide, fangs catching the moonlight as it slavered in expectant excitement for the coming feast of misery that it was about to unleash upon these innocent and unsuspecting people.

The Troll lived amongst the inhabitants of this city, walking its streets and pathways, unnoticed and ignored, all the time learning about this thing that they called technology. And the beauty of this new world was that no one gave a second glance towards the scarf that it wore wrapped around its mouth to hide its foulness as it continued its mischief of whispers.

Then the Troll had an idea. The Troll had observed these people sat for hours in front of glowing screens, their fingers never still as they communicated with friends and family, even strangers across the face of the earth. The peoples faces where filled with laughter and smiles and happiness as they communicated their joy. These people called this the internet and the Troll had an idea.

The Troll sat and pulled the scarf from around its mouth to let it fall at its feet, no longer requiring the disguise. The Trolls grin widened as it saw its own reflection in the computer screen and the Troll began to type its message to the world.
''Hello, I'm Troll, and I would like to tell you something....

This is the best definition of a troll I have ever read, maybe some are reading this now and starting to think, yes that really is me, while others are just sat down wondering what to write next, their intelligence numbed by revenge and the brain eating bug.

Give it a break Dusak!
Haggis is completely overrated and all that oatmeal gets stuck in the fringes of the scarf!
Too much flossing required to remove it from crevices in the fangs! And that takes up valuable time that could be spent more productively...wreaking havoc and seeking revenge!
Anyway,I've always lived by the motto that if you're talking about me...then you're leaving some other poor bugger alone!

Funny article, but nothing like ST. She's feisty and opinionated and calls it like she see's it. But she's no TROLL. She's too upbeat for one thing! And ST, bear this in mind...when they stop talking about you in Luxor you're either terminally boring or dead!

You must have had a lot to drink A4! ST and Jewel one and the same? Unlikely I would have thought. Writing styles totally dissimilar for one thing. So unless Jewel is a master at disguising herself I'd say that you're barking up the wrong tree. Or taking the proverbial-which is more likely! :)

Scottishtourist, first of all A Troll would not be stupid enough to attempt to eat haggis with a scarf around its mouth, secondly, as you seemed to be upset cos you had no contact with any ex-pats I was trying to be nice by including you in my posts, you know, get you a bit of notoriety. P.S Mr. Keefy I compliment you on being very sneaky and crafty to boot this afternoon. Technology is a wonderful thing, nudge nudge wink wink.

Well well a compliment, but I can't accept it unless I know the reason to being "very sneaky and crafty to boot this afternoon" :?

God Dusak!
Have I not got enough notoriety?
If I ever thought for a moment that the postings of an innocent wee Scottish lassie would afford me fame,ill-repute,notoriety and reputation as an internet troll.....then I'd have joined forum years ago!!!!

:( Saw the light flashing for a new entry to this thread and been saving reading it until I'd worked my way through most of the other post. Now sat down armed with a strong coffee ready to read TROLL's Chapter 2 only to find there isn't one, it's just comments.
