Yes it is nice to see Jane on here, like me, I am sure others hope she will come back to us, if only to give the good advice she is well known on here for.

P.S. - I was over the WB a couple of weeks ago, with hope that I would come across you to get that free drink you promised me on here some time ago, but then again, I suspect some one warned you, that I was about. Best Wishes.

I do miss that certain charactor on here Bennu, and I know she and I have had our falling outs, but we have all reformed now, and neither of us see our glass as half empty so much, as we did in the past,.........well not every night any way.

Any how, I need the info on this lecture, as I know this tomb very well, being that there is not a dogs chance of Jane accepting me on her face book, what more can I do?

I was serious, A-four, Jane Akshar usually takes notes! :)

There is even a chance that they will be available online, so maybe you can still have that free drink...

Oh thanks JoJo, we don't need her after all, but yes we do, she knows her stuff these days, and yes, as far as I am concurned she is no longer a student on this forum, she's a star, a distant one, I'll grant you, but a star all the same.

Thanks Bennu, it would be nice if Jane was to post on her though, as we could all debate it, lets face it, some of the doctors are good, but then again some are bad, and sometimes very bad.

Jane takes copious notes during the lectures and puts a full report (without the slides, unfortunately) on her blog.
I might agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong!

Did anyone catch the name of the next speaker, and the topic? It will be on Monday 26th December at 7p.m. if I heard correctly.

Some people I spoke to last night were disappointed by Edwin Brock's lecture, expecting more archaeology and less engineering. Personally I thought that he spoke very well to his topic, and I found much of it interesting.

A pity about the inconsiderate people who will not disable their mobile phones, but it was as bad this time last year at the last lecture I attended here.
My main complaint though was the lack of air conditioning in the theatre. I know that Egyptians generally like a warmer environment than most northerners, but the room was much too hot and humid for my liking. It took me an hour afterwards to cool off sufficiently to need to don my fleece.

A good attendance though, of nearly 100. Considering the lack of advertising I think that was a very good response.

Please don't hate me, Azurite, I left Florence, where I feel at home, and went to Siena, that I adore and now I'm in Rome - all alone with a bottle of Chianti Classico and a pair of tired feet. The main reason that I go to Italy now and then is that I need something to look forward to, whenever I leave Luxor! This time for Christmas. x:lol:

I certainly hope that the lectures continue, when I come back! :le:

The next lecture is tonight, 1st January at 7pm.

Continuing on the Tomb of Harwa, Miriam Ayad of the American University of Cairo is going to talk about the Opening of the Mouth Ritual.
