Although, I do remember the notes my mother gave me from her purse always had a loveley smell to them..
More to do with the touch of my Mother than the currency manufacturers me thinks...

Then you have to spend the recently sniffed notes in the pharmacy to get rid of the little red spots from up your nose pipes. I wipe my wallet out with disinfectant every couple of months. I would love someone to take a germ reading off some of these notes to see exactly what we're inadvertently gathering on the digits.
