Social workers, now I know they come in for a lot of flak and many of them do difficult and demanding jobs but the latest just makes me wonder where they come from.
A man who has been convicted of serial rapes, grooming young girls who is currently serving a long prison sentence has been asked by a social worker if he would like contact with his new born child. The product of rape. I give up.
Do they live in a different world?

Re: Do they live in a different world?
Its the law in care cases father's have to be notified of care proceedings. Now whether he actually has any involvement with the child is another matter.
Also the child is not a baby his a disturbed young man who they are looking to hold in a secure unit, to get there he would have undergone also sorts of assessment psychiatric and holestic therapys now I am presuming that the child has asked to see his father.

It is what it is.

This. The entire story is utter ********. It's the result of some seriously bad journalism from The Times which other papers have picked up without any further checking.dsaxelby wrote:Its the law in care cases father's have to be notified of care proceedings. The facts of the matter are laid out here: http://www.transparencyproject.org.uk/w ... NyyKR2f0U8
"Ultimately, what this boils down to is a story about an unnamed local authority which has complied with court rules to give notice to a parent of the fact their child was subject to proceedings. Not such a great front page story though, is it?"
