I'm very lucky, thanks to my sister, that I can spend the summer months with her and her husband in a lovely seaside resort. I was chatting on the phone with my other half, talking about some of the attractions there, and I mentioned the Cat Cafe, and had to explain to him what a Cat Cafe was, how extremely popular it was, and it was so popular that people had to make appts to visit. Being Egyptian he found it very hard to believe that people actually paid to go and sit with cats.
"So how much do they pay?"
" Five pounds per person"
"Five pounds sterling????????"
" Of Course Sterling! "
He now has BIG plans for the hotel cat................

Re: I Wish I'd Kept Quiet....
I'd be tempted to pay to sit in a cat free cafe in Luxor.
I don't dislike cats, but I do dislike the excess of cats creeping ever closer to me when I go to a coffee shop. Worse still are the cats that assume you have ordered a snack for them rather than yourself.

Actually, an even stronger dislike for me are the humans that seem to think it's OK to feed cats scraps whilst they are eating their meal, and/or entice the cats after they have finished eating and put their plate on the floor for the cats to eat the leftovers from.HEPZIBAH wrote: ↑Mon Aug 03, 2020 5:19 pm I'd be tempted to pay to sit in a cat free cafe in Luxor.

A pet hate of mine is to see cats clambering over worktops, draining boards etc!

I can understand that. Cat's do seem to like kitchen surfaces. Thankfully, our cat didn't do that, but she would find a way to squeeze herself between the top of the washing machine and the work top.
I suppose that at least if you've seen a pet patrolling kitchen work tops, you are reminded to sanitise it before using it.

The hotel cat is always open to bribery - a little cheese at breakfast goes a long way!
