Moving to Luxor

Post by Lorraine1 »

Hi everyone,

I'm moving to Luxor at the end of next month and wanted to introduce myself and maybe meet up with some of you when i settle in.

I currently live in London and am fed up with the rat race and need more purpose to my life, i'm sure i will find that in Luxor.

I'm a little bit apprehensive as i will be living on my own for a while, but i'm sure everything will be ok.

Kind regards,
Lorraine.

Good Luck lorraine and welcome to the forum. I am sure some of the people already living in Luxor will help you with any questions you may want to ask.

Welcome to the forum and best of luck with the move, I am sure you will settle in quickly. Believe it or not, they are a nice bunch of people that live in Luxor :) anything you need help with ask away.

Why do you think you will find purpose in Luxor?

Because she wont be living in Cairo inhaling smog having to wear a Burkha, it will happen I'm already marketing rebreathers integrated into burkhas, very fashionable and lets' face it Luxor IS the center of the Universe for 'errrrr nutters and for many people trying to find a purpose in their life, How come your not tossing burgers in some floridian Ali's drive-in burger bar, whilst teaching hieroglyphs, then glyph?
So What does it say on my obelisk behind my head ? Oh wise one......8)

PS: Lorraine, come to the West Bank, we're all robbers & thieves, but honest as the days long. Pop round for a drink ask for the obilisk...

Moving to Luxor

Post by SharonAnn »

Welcome to Luxor!!! Will you be living on the east bank or the west? How many times have you visited Egypt before you made your decision? I moved here from Estonia almost three years ago with my now late husband Scott (he passed away in early November) and our dog, Dina. We live in a small house on the east bank but if you're into Egyptology or hiking or biking the west bank is the place to be.
Best,
Sharon

I envy you Lorraine. Always hoped from my very first visit that I might end up living there. I have not given up the hope.

Envious here as well :) But meeting a man with a child from previous relationship really limited my options for the time being. Don't think I'm not happy and grateful! Just need to plan different for the time being :)
