Thats what you get for straying too far from the promised land - Leicester - you know you love it!A-Four wrote:Just to bring this subject back into the real world for perhaps a short while, I would simply like to add a few discoveries I made during my time in Austria and in Southern Germany.A-Four wrote:I was in Austria last week, and from reading the news there, the Burqa is banned in that country as of either yesterday or today.
They would have you believe that Austria is a very modern forward thinking liberal country,......believe me, the majority of the people I come across there are very right wing, almost frightening.
When you look at the population of Austria, then realise how many refugees from Syria have been invited to settle in that country, it makes you wonder if it has learnt anything from the Hapsburg days or for that matter World War II.
When we now look at Baveria in Southern Germany, which has 10% of the population and holds the bank accounts of almost one third of the wealth of the whole of modern Germany, I discovered that little has changed there in attitude by its people since when I first visited there in the late 1970's. Believe me, even when I speak with the young people there, one would almost think Adolf Hitler had actually won the war.
When Mrs Merkel invited one million people from Syria to Germany, she expected those who had money to get on a aeroplane from there, in other words doctor, teachers, lawyers etc, that Germany desperately require. What she did not expect was that the poor were prepared to risk their life then walk thousands of miles, to the so called 'promised land'.
I was told by a senior financier there that Germany is the Euro, and every country that uses it is behold to Germany. A war won without even firing a gun. While the U.S.A. plays a game in the Pacific, it is China that is playing the German Euro game there, the frightening thing is that the U.S. has still to realise this.

I'd give you a like for that comment Zoo, but unfortunately they have yet to sort that out.
I'm wondering why that and most other facilities available to other members has been removed from my good self,......anyhow, like most other members on here, it's sometimes best to simply ignore a certain member,......I hear life becomes a lot easier,....well,......so I'm told .
P.S. I'm going now Horis get a little after I've hit 5 .

Now i know why hed rather attach himself to a family in another country to live with.
No you don't. The ugly nature of some elements of the UK public had little to do with it.
I wonder how many Islamophobes have treated him on his frequent visits to the motherland?
Most were coloured. Probably not islamophobes then (tends to be an old white male characteristic). An excellent Hindu surgeon. My GP's Iranian.

Re: Banning the Niqab
Oh dear. Dont you know that the term "coloured" is considered at best very offensive and at worst a "racist" term?
Benedict cumberbatch and Alan Hanson were forced to make grovelling apologies when they used the term.
Do you want to apologise to any members who may have been offended by that rather inconsiderate term?
Puts Horus's Islamophobe tag into perspective.
Also, you have suggested that "coloured people" are "probably" not Islamophobic, thats a clear judgement based on colour.
You are a racist!
By the way, the definition of racist is an attitude or judgement based on the grounds of colour it need not be a negative attitude either.
A fact born out by the fact that the anti racist body Kick Racism Out of Football have said that Manchester United fans chanting that one of their black players has a large penis (a compliment as far as the fans are concerned) is racist and must stop.
But its ok Newcastle, i know you are not a racist - after all we have to use the meaning of words according to your "book" as stated by you a few posts back.
But of course your not pompus!

Apparently the correct term in the USA is ‘people of colour’. There is no meaningful semantic difference between ‘people of colour’ and ‘coloured people’. Why does one offend, then, when the other does not? Isn’t this a case of confected outrage and manufactured sensitivity?
Absolutely!
Well , you'd know more about that than most

Re: Banning the Niqab
You are without a doubt a racist to describe a member of our ethnic community as being 'Coloured' is a typical racist remark, don’t you know we have moved on? The days of you expatriate colonialists treating the indigenous community where you live as ‘coloured’ “those darkies” has long gone and you have the temerity to lecture others, shame on you closet racist that you are.

Re: Banning the Niqab
We have only moved on from Islamophobia if you give us permission - you are running this gig obviously.
The term Islamophobia is a bollo**s term anyway.
A phobia is an irrational fear.
People with irrational fears are mentally ill and most decent people in these enlightened times have nothing but sympathy for people in such circumstances.
We all know that people like you who bandy this term around have anything but sympathy for the people they are chucking it at.
It doesnt even mean hatred of Islam when most people use it, including you by your own admission - "detesting Islam does not make you Islamophobic".
In any case Islam is a set of ideas not a person or people.
Id be quite comfy being called an Islamophobe in those circumstances because i do hate Islam, its a religion for starters which for me automatically qualifies it in my opinion but i have plenty of other reasons.
What most politically correct professional mud slingers like you mean by Islamophobia is that you hate Muslim people.
So why dont you just grow a pair and say it?
