It looks like Egypt has slipped back to it's old ways.

I assume you are referring to the journalists as posted in the News section earlier today.

If you believe the defence, Al Jazeera & the family & friends of the convicted journalists, no credible evidence was presented of any offence whatsoever.
In which case there has been a dreadful miscarriage of justice....carried out in the full glare of world opinion by a judicial system that has no concern for this.
Or maybe there was evidence presented which convinced the judge.
I don't know....I wasn't there.
The opinion of the defence et al is not 'impartial'. That the judge reached an totally untenable conclusion seems improbable.
Like the brother of the Australian Al Jazeera journalist. I'll be interested to read the full details of the case and the reasoning behind the judgement (which I believe should be forthcoming if the usual procedures are followed)

Good...
Ps: why should 'freedom of speech be beyond the law ? especially when sponsored by a despotic idea that wishes to take us all back to the 'dark-ages, they knew who and what paid their wages.
"never forget the 1000 year Reich..

Having lost so many years of my life to marriage, I can safely say there is no such thing as 'freedom of speech.'
Life is your's to do with as you wish- do not let other's try to control it for you. Count Dusak- 1345.
