Re: What does Christmas mean to you ?
Two days off work that I would much prefer to take at another time of the year.

Hello Wiz! Spooky! I was just about to email you to find out how is your health and situation. All good, I hope?
To me it's family and friends and food and helping those who will miss out. Have a wonderful one, mate!

Absolutely nothing!
I might agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong!

I am torn between the consumerism of it all, AND it does not teach kids a good lesson..
BUT I do agree with the caring and sharing aspect.. Shame Most Humans can only manage that for one day a year..

Nothing, but winter, it's about being kind to the earth, not digging in her roots, not trimming many plants, that's what winter means, oh yes and chai tea and fires.......
That's my Christmas ......peace and joy to all
Agree BM and some don't even manage one day a year!

Re: What does Christmas mean to you ?
For me it means celebration!
I get the chance to go to Mass (being Catholic and all that!)and give thanks for the birth of MY Saviour.
I ain't a "bible basher"by any means...but Christmas lets me reflect on all the blessings that I've been fortunate enough to enjoy in the past year.
I also get chance to handle turkey innards, instead of human ones!!!
And my two days off work are greatly appreciated...cos there's nowhere else I'd rather be than in my homeland with family, getting merry and enjoying good food and drink!
I honestly think that too much energy is expended on being negative....so enjoy wherever you are and whatever you believe, make the most of it...and count your blessings!

Re: What does Christmas mean to you ?
I've been dieting for months, exercising and running to get back into some semi-human shape, so Christmas is pay-back time when I intend to over-eat a bit and enjoy a nice evening drink in front of the TV and hopefully some entertaining programmes. Then it'll be back to reality with more weight control regime in between bouts of being hunched over the keyboard progressing with my book (the next ten Christmases will probably be the same!).

This years turkey "Norma, will be marinated for a day before roasting as last years 'Neville, was deemed a bit tough these egyptians birds can be 'tough as old-socks...ho ho ho!.....
'small picture small bird'
PS: 'incase you forgot Neville 'we remember him.......

Re: What does Christmas mean to you ?
Time to Reflect on the Year that's just past time to put your hands on top of your head and look whats stood underneath, if you don't like then change, time to either be nicer or as nastier than you are in the year to come. Time to improve your gossip skills for the year to come, time to improve your Armour plating if you live in Luxor, time to chip in a little towards the education of some to help them improve their lives.
