Who built the Great Pyramid?
Despite overwhelming archaeological evidence, some sad souls still maintain the pyramids were built by aliens.
Maybe the papyrus records detailing certain aspects of the construction will finally lay this myth to rest.
In 2013, a joint team of French and Egyptian archaeologists discovered a remarkable find in a cave at the ancient Red Sea port of Wadi el-Jarf—hundreds of inscribed papyrus fragments that were the oldest ever unearthed in Egypt. As Egyptologists Pierre Tallet and Gregory Marouard detailed in a 2014 article in the journal Near Eastern Archaeology, the ancient texts they discovered included a logbook from the 27th year of the reign of the pharaoh Khufu that described the construction of the Great Pyramid of Giza.

They'd probably assert that, in addition to clearing off to their home galaxy, far far away, without leaving any evidence of their advanced abilities, they were cunning enough to leave some forged papyrus documents to lead us all astray 5000 years later

Or they could say that those that believe Khufu built the pyramid forged the documents and arranged for them to be found so that their "alien" theory would be de bunked. Yer can't win.

Yes...that makes sensecarrie wrote:Or they could say that those that believe Khufu built the pyramid forged the documents and arranged for them to be found so that their "alien" theory would be de bunked. Yer can't win.
I can picture the poor Egyptians at the time, fed up with having to haul huge stones to and fro, at the behest of tentacled masters from outer space, sitting sipping their beers and cracking whips, thinking :
" Once these buggers have gone, we're gonna write that WE built this bloody pyramid and take all the credit for it"

There is plenty of Alien life here on Earth, and also intelligence that can be classed as Alien. Especially back in those days, and the knowledge was lost as the quality of pyramids declined.

Good morning John! You took your time!

... the way I see it is if you are clever enough to travel light years through space, and, possibly time itself, then it stands to reason that you would be clever enough to cover not only your tracks concerning a possible visit to earth, but your very existence.
Life is your's to do with as you wish- do not let other's try to control it for you. Count Dusak- 1345.

And yet.....stupid enough to assemble a pile of rocks on a distant world for no purpose we've yet discovered (unless they had an urge to bury pharaohs in some style )Dusak wrote:... the way I see it is if you are clever enough to travel light years through space, and, possibly time itself, then it stands to reason that you would be clever enough to cover not only your tracks concerning a possible visit to earth, but your very existence.
Of course it's very convenient for the alien-theorists to maintain that these extra-terrestrials were super shy and unbelievably tidy

Re: Who built the Great Pyramid?
you are now self explaining intelligent life, Far more intelligent than Humans en mass in their present state. Not leaving footprints for a very good reason, call it Harmony of you like.... ...
.
Remember, history is written by the Victor, and a society and its knowledge can be changed in as little as 40 years. Move 5000 years forward, and we are in a very dark place in comparison.
.
.
For now, but not for long....
"You're sailing softly through the Sun, in a broken Stoneage dawn..."
Pyramids... This is only part of the story.. maybe not exactly right, but close enough for the present level of understanding.

When you've mastered space and time...indeed the very essence of the universe...what is there left to do but wind up a few primitive civilisations ?Horus wrote:Or to travel vast distances in space and time to flatten a few corn fields

I'm sorry JohnJohn Landon wrote:What happened to the Ancient Knowledge, wisdom and power ?

You'll have to do better than the unsubstantiated ramblings of some beardy-weirdy nutter in the bowels of Dendera Temple!
I know I'm wasting my time with this but.....
There are depictions within the temple of Dendera, in the southern crypt, that show a figure holding a lotus, from which emits a snake surrounded by a "protective cocoon", held aloft by a Djed pillar. It is these reliefs that are the primary "evidence" presented by the lamp loonies. No archaeological or textual evidence for any kind of electrical device, or knowledge concerning electricity, has ever been recovered from ancient Egypt.
There are many problems with this device and its depiction. Firstly, the Dendera we see today isn't an Egyptian temple. It's a Greco-Roman building constructed to Egyptian principles of design, built between the 4th century BCE to early centuries CE.[4] As such, the figures depicted with the "lamp", would be existing in the classical, rather than ancient world. The classic writers make no mention of electricity in Egypt.Note from Newcastle : Actually, the crypts are more ancient than Graeco-Roman....not that this alters the argument much.
Secondly, the accompanying texts are fairly standard texts for the period, and make no mention of the scene being in any way related to lighting.
Thirdly, ancient rulers were inclined to brag. If the Greco-Roman occupiers of Egypt had electrical lighting, they would be sure to trumpet such an achievement somewhere more high profile than the basement of a provincial temple in a distant occupied land. This sort of thing would have the wow-factor you want want to be shown off at the Coliseum back in Rome, or the amphitheaters and libraries of the Hellenistic world. Such a device would be an object of huge prestige and the rulers of the classical world were every bit as aware of the importance of prestige as were the shy, modest and self-abasing Pharaohs whose rule they supplanted.
Finally, if lightbulbs existed in ancient Egypt, why the hell would they make it so damned big?
[edit]The soot (or lack thereof)

Re: Who built the Great Pyramid?
The bit that always makes me laugh is that the part that they use as a stand for the 'light-bulb' aka lotus flower is actually the Djed pillar that can be seen everywhere on Egyptian monuments and represents a backbone. The light-bulb is a serpent within a lotus flower and if the author of this theory was to be honest and show the rest of the wall in the basement of Denderah Temple we would see those same lotus flowers and serpent without the 'glass' globe and the same serpent (or filament) standing alone. In addition the author chooses to show the Djed pillar because of its resemblance to an electrical insulator, what they do not show is that on the opposite side the 'insulator' with what is very clearly a human figure in the same position. The so called Denderah Light is in fact a lotus flower supported on a Djed pillar and spawning a snake as an aspect of Egyptian mythology. Also anyone who has ever seen the long tendril like stem of a water lily or Lotus flower would not confuse it with a power cable, so why would anyone knowing ancient Egyptian beliefs and iconography would try to make it into something it is not and then dream up a fanciful alternative is somewhat bewildering.
All these images are on the same wall as the 'Light Bulb' in the crypt at Denderah

Re: Who built the Great Pyramid?
Frater's never mentioned light bulbs or electricity in the time of Akhenaton....and he was there!
So it's obviously a myth

Re: Who built the Great Pyramid?
Remember I said about these video's ... "maybe not exactly right, but close enough"
The Lightbulb is symbolic, Notice how it comes out of a Lotus.
The Lotus was a highly powerful hallucinogen, and the Ancients knew how to use these flowers.
The Ancients mastered Magnetic, vibrational and sonic power, along with a few other things we think we know all about.
Electricity is naturally occurring. The Skys are full of it..
