Entrances to the Sphinx..

Whilst reading this article I noticed a picture of Robert Temple in a space in the Sphinx
which I recognised from one of our nocturnal visits along with Nick.
We also spent time in another located just behind the 'dream stela.... 8)

The entrance in that picture is on the left hand side at the back near the tail (as viewed from the front) and isn't very deep at all and usually full of litter. ;)

Also known as the rear entrance, or back passage, bit of a bummer really :lol: :lol:

As to the Sphinx, there is a lot of evidence to indicate that it may have had the head re-carved in antiquity, mainly because the body is out of proportion to the head.
