Egypt's antiquities minister in temporary charge at culture ministry
PM Kamal El-Ganzouri appoints Antiquities Minister Mohamed Ibrahim to hold culture folio until new government appointed.
Egypt's prime minister, Kamal El-Ganzouri, has appointed Minister of State for Antiquities Mohamed Ibrahim to take charge of affairs at the Ministry of Culture until the formation a new government by President-elect Mohamed Morsi.
El-Ganzouri's decision came after former culture minister Mohamed Saber Arab resigned so he could be nominated for the State Award for Social Science. Ministers cannot be nominated for the prize whilst in office.

How extraordinary! So on the face of it he has resigned his job in order to try and win a prize!
