The jockey was 18 yrs old, on his first Grand National ride and he rode with great skill and a far less than average thrashing of the animal.
I was wondering if the jockey still gets 10% of the purse as it did in my day - if so about £180,000 will look good in his insurance and pension pot. I hope so.

The only horse race I used to bet on, I remember my son had 2s and 6d on Red Rum and he insisted on betting on the same horse next year despite everyone telling him that the same horse never won twice.
