Where are all the SNOW pictures???

Post by Grandad »

Not a flake in the south east but some of you folks must have had your share.

I had expected some lovely seasonal pictures by now.....

Or are you all saving them for the December Photo Competition..."CHRISTMAS" ?

Same here, slight snow flurry overnight, but it has warmed up a little and most of it has now melted away, however if it does snow again overnight as promised, I may be tempted out for a walk tomorrow, if so I will see if there are any snow photographs to be had. :)
Here's a couple to start you off but they are from 2008

This one is for the B&W fans:

This one isn't:

This is the village I am from in Cornwall. It was taken from the cliff top overlooking the harbour last winter, which was one of the rare occasions the village had snow as it has it's own micro-climate.

Great picture Kevin :) it would look good on a Christmas card, especially with those little warm lights shining through the coldness.

As we have gone all retro, I will join in. Our last snow was February this year, this is a stainless steel sculpture celebrating the Queens Silver Jubilee......was it that long ago?

As usual I can only post pictures in IE but can't see yours....I am sure they are great, will have a look in GC.......

Back on here now, mustn't edit or the picture will disappear. :x

I like the B & W Horus but then, I have always been a B & W fan. However, my submission above is not B & W as it might appear.
And Kevin, those little warm lights look so inviting. :)

But where is Kiya.....are you snowed in lass????

These are some from a great winter walk we did today......perfect conditions on the tops but very icy - crampons and ice axes required :)
Hoping to do some winter climbing soon if conditions continue

I like your pictures Jewel. :) Especially the second and fourth.

As much as I would love to go out & take some snow sceneries its far too cold & the roads not so good.
Last night was horrendous with heavy snow showers, thunder & lightning, I was totally mad hanging out my window taking some pics.
Cant believe most of it is gone this morning but its still wild & freezing.
The first 2 pics I took late last night with no flash & the second 2 this morning between snow showers & a little sunshine.
If you see any shake its cause I was hanging out the window again & trembling....brrrrrrrrrr.

Some lovely pictures here.

Kevin's Cornwall one looks very quaint with just a couple of house lights on.
Jewel - Your pics are very dramatic

Kiya - Lovely picture - well done for not falling out of your window. I was just looking through your Personal album, some truly stunning photos!:)

I am back in the UK on Monday for one week - chaos and dangerous roads aside, I love the Winter especially the snow!

After I thought we were clear of snow last night we woke to another blanket of snow over night & been falling off & on all day with some dramatic skies & very dark while there is showers of snow.
No idea why I have the heating on I've been hanging out the window quite a lot

I like 3 and 4 Kiya for those BIG skies. :) :)

LLL, new snow is at its best when undisturbed as in your table and chairs. :) :)
