It looks like KFC will be next is they dont book their ideas up.

I fancied a KFC last night so on my way back from seeing a friend around 11pm I called in, the guy said you will have to wait 30 minutes for you order...I said its supposed to be a fast food place, he said sorry we are not busy    I went to Mcdonalds in the end.

Both different styles of Pizza, Italian Italian & American Italian I like items from both. Any restaurant closing is a downturn for Luxor especially brand names as it does not inspire other big brands to venture into the market. I understand the staff have been relocated to other branches.

I fear there may be a lot more places closing soon, the lack of business at some of the modern food outlets will see to it, you cannot keep going on with 50-100le income and in some cases less and expect to pay your utility bills wages and alike. Some places i have been to during Ramadam have been open but just have nothing in the fridges, some have not had shisha Tawfar for days and days. Some establishments have not even got the income to replenish, it is very obvious. Maybe many of them should have shut down for Ramadam.

In Luxor TV Street today I saw a group of around 20 Chinese Tourists15 mins later i saw them on Moudina Street, they asked me if I knew of a cafe open where they could get drinks I had been looking myself, so could not help them except tell them of the twin gardens H and S told them that both establishments were about 15 mins walk or 5 mins in a taxi. The leader explained to them and it sounded as though they were going to return to their hotel. I personally am not too keen on fast food, but like to call in at Mucky D's for a coffee and a bit of air conditioning, a welcome break from the Summer Sun.

Bring back some tips on hospitality for tutti frutti then please TB!
Last time I visited I was totally ignored by everyone there.Have vowed never to re-visit...and I won't!
Even Egyptian waiters didn't approach me to take order! They were too busy chatting and gossiping with ex-pats to pay any attention to a lone tourist!

I've been frequenting Tutti Frutti since it opened, and can only say that you must have been there on a very odd day, as I've never seen that happen in all my visits!

Was probably "odd"evening TB!
Geordie lady was not there and ended up at mercy of AN other who was more interested in chit chatting with ex-pats than taking order!
Anyway, all water under bridge now,but will go elsewhere when back in Luxor.

Wouldn't you contemplate going back when the owner is there? If for no other reason but to inform her of your shoddy treatment on your evening visit? I'm quite sure that she would be horrified, but very interested, to know the details.

Sorry I have never been into Tuti Fruiti for years, went past Smilies last week at about 9.00am but saw it was closed, dont know if I was too early or if its shut for Ramadam. Sorry my main places on the East Bank are Layila Zahman opposite Deans Bistro (Closed during the day for Ramadam) and Al Filayla Wilayla on TV Street. Have not been in Secret Garden since Tracey gave it up. I like Om Kassoon in the Sook too.
I only use these on shopping days, and support my local places during the week Al Baierat Coffee Shop and Restaurant, and Alladdins in the same vacinity, in Ramla, I like Ali Barbas for a coffee and shisha, its just that I do not like Ramla, to much hassle for me.
Eating out, well I prefer to eat in unless a special occassion, nothing like a nice meal while watching the British Soaps and Series 13 of Big Brother, and having my lovely wife for company.

Parts of Africa suffer famine now they suffer obesity and guess why ?
So the quicker the major fast food outlets 'bite the dust the better for humanity...food are people so ignorant they actually think they sell food ?...

I am sad to say that, I saw the influx of what in Luxor they call Chippies. When they first arrived on the WB, I would watch young kids take a bite out of one of these things, and watch there expressions of dis-taste, but they carried on eating them, now these kids are 15 to 20 years old, and you only have to look at the size of them.

In the U.K. you can see every day which 'mum's go to Iceland', the kids are fatter than their fathers, God only knows how fat these kids will be before it kills them.
