The authorised biography of TE Lawrence. 1990.
Well quite a tome. What a strange character he was, and I haven't even got to the good bits yet.
Quite fascinating and revealing just how astute he was..
The intrigues that probably still are consistent to this day.
As Will once said "Oh, what a tangled web we weave. When first we practise to deceive!....
Ps: Only another 1000 pages to go.
Tonights feast Marinaded Chicken cooked with a can of Meister up it's bum!..
You cook it standing up...
Ps: Ned (Lawrence didn't even drink but, he did smoke)
Peter O'Toole did both to excess bless...

Didn't He and Winston Churchill have a hand in sorting out the ownership of land in Palestine Israel back in about 1913.. ?
They say the devil is in the detail, but often you need to zoom out and view the bigger picture from much further back in both time and space.
unrelated perhaps, ? but you cannot have time without space, and vice versa....

Re: Lawrence of Arabia. Jeremy Wilson
There is one thing certain about TEL - he couldn't tell the truth. He could write.
I will post when I put my ideas together but there is a civil war about his 'status' driven, in a low rent way. by the tens of thousands of ignorant obsessive acolytes.
To me its about a deeply romantic, beautifully written story which is preferable to the facts - that almost nothing was achieved and the Hijaz princes put in power after WW1 in Iraq and Syria were useless and the Brits did nothing later to protect the Hijaz family from Saudi takeover in the 20's leading to the 'current arrangements' in Saudi with deeply unromantic characters whom Lawrence hated for their lack of bloodline.
People, well over-educated vegs, love a romantic story.
A fine piece of realistic, and animated, sculpture.
