Blanketmen Richard O'Rawe

Post by Who2 »

I am currently 3/4 way through this harrowing tale of the men in HMP Maze.
Given to me by my guest who was given a copy by the author.

Besides the inhuman conditions of the incarcerated, I am intrigued by the size of the crystal radio sets secreted up their bums.
To which I have asked John to email the author as to their size as no available pictures are to be seen on the internet.
And did they also secrete the headphones 'up-there as well ?....... 8)
Ps: It 'beggers-belief!
Pss: Mind you it gives credence to 'talking out of one's arse, a whole different meaning..

Foxhole radios would surely be used instead of radios smuggled in via the a55 hole, would probably work quite well.
No need to actually smuggle anything in, as I assume you can get the necessary components in Her Majesties finest penal establishments,
which no doubt one could "beg", "borrow" or more aptly... "steal" . 8)

Graphite ( pencil lead ) and a razor blade plus some copper wire and a set of headphones.

You must have played with crystal Radios when you were a kid George ?

I always found it fascinating that a radio wave had sufficient power to be heard via a passive medium. :up

I cannot believe how much I missed living up in 't Dales, till I realised what a bunch of miserable two hats those people were and how they revelled in the misery... :cg
