Ahdaf Soueif - The Map Of Love

Post by New Gal »

How well you prescribe Jane!

This book is the perfect antidote to my restlessness, started it lastnight and I am engrossed by it.

Brought it with me on my morning commute, now I just have to figure how to be able to sit at my desk and read it without getting sacked…answers on a postcard please! ;)

lol

I got to read her because one of my London Syrian friends knew her personally, she is a fantastic writer IMHO as she picks up the essence of Egypt old and new. Her Eye of the Sun was a Booker prize contender.

It is a big insight into how Egyptian society thinks, especially the men.

As for reading at work you naughty girl

Sure you could read e-books New Gal.
A colleague of mine just shared a great tip. Cut and paste the online article you want to read into a word document and read at your leisure!!!!

Lol I have done that cut and paste trick for years and years but I don't think they have whole book transcripts on the Internet for me to cut and paste.

I am naughty Jane but what can I do, my job bores me to tears, literally!

Books are the only thing that keep me sane (ish)!

I have to admit doing that myself but not with a book that thick, smaller ones you can hide and have an upset tummy and spend the time in the loo
